K-Gr 2-When Gotham City faces an overwhelming wave of crime and Batman can't respond to every plea for help alone, he calls on his trusted allies-"his BAT-FAMILY, of course! ROBIN, BATGIRL, NIGHTWING, and other Caped Crusaders" join Batman in the fight to protect the city. The latest titles in the series deliver action and adventure tailored for early readers, featuring familiar characters that fans will instantly recognize. Together, Batman and his family go head-to-head with notorious villains such as The Joker, Gorilla Grodd, Catwoman, and Killer Croc to thwart break-ins, thefts, and the destruction of Gotham City. A central theme to this series is teamwork and that working together can help the group succeed. The vivid, action-packed illustrations are reminiscent of comic book panels, adding to the excitement of the narrative. While the pacing of the stories may feel a bit fast, newly independent readers will likely enjoy the short, manageable length, with only three chapters per book, making them ideal for transitioning into chapter books. VERDICT A solid addition for libraries where Batman and other comic book heroes are in demand, offering fast-paced stories that will keep young readers engaged.
