PreS-Gr 1-Milgrim is back with another charming addition to the Theodor Seuss Geisel Honor-winning series. Otto tries very hard to make Tweet his newest friend, but Tweet needs a little time and space to adjust to the idea. Written with beginning readers in mind, sentences are direct and short. Illustrations bring Otto and Tweet to life with warmth, but stark white backgrounds keep new readers from getting overwhelmed with too much visual detail. Readers will enjoy Otto's increasing desperation to make friends with Tweet, until finally they reach a sweet and satisfying understanding. VERDICT A great choice for beginning reader collections.-Savannah Kitchens
