《初刻拍案惊奇》是明朝末年凌濛初编著的拟话本小说集。正式成书于1627年（明天启七年），尚友堂书坊于翌年1628年刊行。《初刻拍案惊奇》是模仿话本小说而创造的小说集，其题材大多取自前人。书的内容比较繁杂，思想倾向前后不尽相同，主要有描写商人思想行径、命运遭际的作品和描写婚恋的作品。其多出自前代著述，但经过凌濛初的再创作，也一定程度表现出晚明社会现实与时代气息，浸含着凌氏本人的思想观念和愤世不平之气。常与《二刻拍案惊奇》并称二拍，加上冯梦龙的"三言"，则为"三言二拍"，在中国文学史上有较重要的影响。
