Based on the two concepts of "Ancestry" and "cultural identity" that are put forward by Soros, the writer investigates the ethnic groups experience and cultural identity in the selected twelve Chinese-American English novels systemically to reveal the function of promotion and restrict of those on the process of Americanization of the characters and discuss the movement trajectory of Americanization of the literary characters and the writers' themselves.)
